Dhurandhar was cleared by the CBFC for release after a re-examination for links with Major Mohit Sharma, following orders from the Delhi HC.
The parents of the late Major Mohit Sharma filed a lawsuit alleging that the film was inspired by their son's life and bravery, which has caused the Ranveer Singh picture to become embroiled in controversy over the past week.
Nevertheless, the CBFC reexamination revealed no connection between the late army officer and the movie. The certification also revealed the film’s plot, which further removed questions regarding any links with Major Sharma’s life and death.
Storyline:
The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 1999 hijacking of IC-814 and the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament, centres on Ajay Sanyal, the head of India's Intelligence Bureau, who devises a bold and unwavering plan to infiltrate and destroy a potent terrorist network that operates out of Pakistan. Sanyal enlists an unlikely ally to carry out this dangerous operation: a 20-year-old Punjabi boy who is being held captive for a crime motivated by retaliation. Sanyal chooses to shape the boy into a weapon capable of breaking through Karachi's brutal underworld mafia after realising his potential and raw intensity.
